How to choose your plastic surgeon?
The General Medical Council has a list of surgeons who have met the requirements that allow them to be on the Plastic Surgery Specialist Register. This should be checked via the GMC website. Ms Marion Grob is on the Specialist Register of Plastic Surgery with the GMC UK and the Bavarian Doctors Chamber in Munich/Germany.
Do I need to be referred by a general practitioner?
It is not required to be referred by a GP. However, it is good practice to inform your GP that you are undergoing plastic/costmetic surgery. Ms Grob appreciates a close working relationship with the general practitioners of all of her patients.
How long do I have to wait for my operation?
Your operation can be arranged to suit your needs; normally within 2 to 6 weeks of your consultation.
Are the hospitals regulated?
All hospitals used by Ms Grob are registered with their local Health Authority. They are regulated by and comply with the National Care Standards Act.
Is cosmetic surgery safe?
No surgery is without risk; these will be carefully explained to you by Ms Grob. The amount of rish depends on your general health, the kind of surgery, and the type of anaesthesia. After your surgery you will be always able to contact either Ms Grob or the hostpital where you had your surgery.
Is there any initial consultation fee?
Yes there is, which is set in accordance with BARPAS and BAAPS guidelines for good medical practice. Please contact Ms Grob for further information.
Will I be charged for follow-up visits and treatments?
Ms Grob normally bills £120 per follow up visit. Two follow-up visits are included in any package price.
What if I change my mind?
You can decide against a procedure at any time beforehand. If you are uncertain or worried about anything, please contact Ms Grob to discuss any concerns. She will endeavour to answer all your queries.
